Yep. It is a truck stop.

We can continue to go back and forth with our friends from Iowa about all sorts of things. There is one thing that Iowa has that Nebraska does not.

It also happens to be Iowa’s crown jewel.

Iowans have a reason to hold their heads high.

The Nebrasketball Roster Help Guide in Video Form

This Week from Corn Nation

Ohio State 2019 Football Preview
Things are more unsettled in Columbus than they’ve been since 2012 as Ryan Day takes over for Urban Meyer, who’s retired to desk jobs in the Ohio State athletic department and the Fox college football studio. Whether you believe Urbz is retired for good depends on why you think he left Ohio State. If you think that it truly was a medical condition, he’s likely done as a coach.

Watch List Watch: Nebraska Linebacker Mohamed Barry Makes the Butkus Award List
Senior linebacker Mohamed Barry was chosen to the Butkus Award Watch list. Barry is one of 12 linebackers named to the 51-player watch list. The selection of 51 honors the No. 51 that Dick Butkus wore during his Hall of Fame career. It is the second watch list Barry has been named to, as he was on the initial Lott IMPACT Trophy watch list released earlier in the summer.

Adrian Martinez: A Boy Among Men (Sorta)
He shoulda been grind dancing with the Prom Queen at Clovis West High School, but instead he was an early enrollee at Nebraska and was groovin’ with linebacker Mohamed Barry in 40-degree spring scrimmages.

Husker Freshman Safety Cited for Marijuana - Corn Nation
The Nebraska football marijuana tracker has been reset. The sign on the wall now reads:

days since a Husker football player was busted for weed.

Jon’s Postlife Crisis: Nebraska vs Wisconsin - Culture Clash
We have a change after only one episode.

The podcast will be called Jon’s PostLife Crisis until we decide on another name in the future.

Represent Corn Nation in SB Nation’s Fan Pulse
Here at Corn Nation we are the voice of the Huskers community. We talk every day about how the Huskers are doing — we know which call the refs got wrong and which play by the opponent was a dirty cheap shot (Hi Buffs!).

Nebrasketball: Southern Utah Preseason Preview
Southern Utah finished last season with one of their best records in decades, finishing 17-17 and 9-11 in conference play, finishing 7th.

Improbable Expectations for Husker Football Can Be Found Everywhere Except in Nebraska Scott Frost Adrian Martinez Dan Orlovsky - Corn Nation
The national media cannot seem to help themselves. They continue to place expectations on this Nebraska season that I feel are at a level which is setting Nebraska up to fail in Scott Frost’s second season.

Of Bangarangs & Daggers Episode 11: Nate Goes On A Road Trip - Corn Nation
In this weeks episode Nate give us the lowdown on his most recent trip across the country. Our hosts also share who they think would and would not be a good fit at Nebraska if Hoiberg was not hired. To wrap it all together, they give you their five most overrated movies of all time. Yes, that one you love is probably on there.

SPORTS!

Why Kawhi Leonard's power move was a watershed moment
Kawhi Leonard nudging Paul George out of Oklahoma City with two years remaining on George's contract will go down as a watershed moment in the NBA -- for the teams it built and tore apart; for the bounty the Thunder received; but mostly for what it signified about the degree to which superstars now control roster-building.

Fundamental move: Duncan joins Spurs' staff
Tim Duncan is back with the San Antonio Spurs, this time as an assistant coach under Gregg Popovich.

Comparing Sacks, Tackles for Loss Between Nebraska and UCF | Hail Varsity
Scott Frost has avoided making the Year 2 comparison between Central Florida and Nebraska, but that doesn’t mean we have to.

Nebraska Has Potential Glue Guy in FGCU Transfer Haanif Cheatham | Hail Varsity
Cam Mack wasn’t practicing. A JUCO transfer point guard — the top-ranked point guard from the 2019 JUCO class and the No. 3 overall prospect by JUCORecruiting.com — had one more class the Huskers needed to hear back from to get him academically eligible. So half of what is presumed to be the Huskers’ starting backcourt for Fred Hoiberg’s first season in Lincoln wasn’t on the court when Nebraska opened practice No. 4 up to the media on Tuesday.

The Big Ten, the College Football Playoff and the Need for Expansion? | Hail Varsity
We’ve talked about realignment and we’ve talked about strength of schedule, all in regards to the Big Ten and the College Football Playoff. So, you know the drill by now.

Don't forget about this cornerback - Husker247
For a guy with his easy-to-find stature, we still didn't necessarily see him coming onto our radar at all in 2018 until he was just suddenly there.

Last fall camp was just sort of moving along without many questions or mention of him, until one day in late August it was said Braxton Clark was pushing his way onto the 2-deep. Some quick, and maybe necessary work by a guy who was a true freshman and had just arrived to campus from Orlando a couple months earlier.

Fall Camp Preview: Running Backs - Huskers247
We’re inching closer to the start of fall camp and taking a last look at each position group before things get rolling in the next few weeks. Next up is the running back spot, where Nebraska will need to replace 1,000-yard rusher Devine Ozigbo.

Nebraska's Pre-Italy Practices Valuable for Installation, Team Bonding | Hail Varsity
Fred Hoiberg opened the practice facility doors to the media for the first time on Tuesday and the Hail Varsity contingent — Derek Peterson, Chris Walsh, John Peterson and myself — spent the first 10 minutes of the practice identifying who all the new faces were.

Laura Rutledge gushes over Scott Frost, Adrian Martinez hype
With each passing day leading into the start of fall camp, the University of Nebraska's value nationally continues to expand.

“STICK TO SPORTS!” Nah.

Reconstructing the face of Mary Magdalene
The joint effort of an artist and a scientist have yielded images of a face that might have belonged to Mary Magdalene. The 3D facial reconstruction was performed on a skull that many believe is the true skull of the early saint, housed in the Basilica of Mary Magdalene in Saint-Maximin-La-Sainte-Baume, France

St. Francis of Assisi's legendary Camino pilgrimage
Among the many famous pilgrims who have walked to the burial site of St. James the Apostle in Spain is reportedly St. Francis of Assisi. It is said that in 1214 St. Francis embarked on a long journey to Spain early on in the development of his new religious order.

El Camino de Santiago de Compostela is probably number one on my bucket list. I don't know if it will ever happen but I hope it does. Watch the movie “The Way.” It ain’t just for religious people.

Your Smart TV Is Getting Too Smart—and Collecting Your Data | Fortune
To the delight of binge-watchers everywhere, it’s no longer prohibitively expensive to purchase a giant television. And those devices are also getting smarter, with features like voice commands, personalized recommendations, and built-in apps for Netflix and other streaming services. It’s almost impossible to buy a TV without them.
