While it is currently unclear what occured, a department spokesperson told both the LJS and OWH that they take student-athlete concerns very seriously. Considering the resignation of former women’s basketball coach Connie Yori under a similar cloud, this is clearly a serious situation.
There is no timeline on when the department plans to complete this review.
Coach Revelle was hired in 1992 and is Nebraska’s winningest coach in any sport, accumulating 989 wins, including seven conference titles and three times to the Women’s College World Series. Despite 20 appearances in the NCAA tournament across her first 24 seasons, Nebraska has struggled as of late, missing the NCAA tournament the past three seasons.
In response to media reports last night, coaches and former players have voiced support on social media.
#Huskers softball coach Rhonda Revelle has been placed on paid administrative leave by the university pending the completion of an unspecified review.
