Nebrasketball: Nebraska To Play Georgia Tech in Big Ten/ACC Challenge

Huskers will go to Atlanta in this years challenge

The Nebraska Cornhuskers will face the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in the 21st annual Big Ten/ACC Challenge. Fred Hoiberg will take his squad down south to Atlanta and play the Yellow Jackets in the McCarmish Pavilion in Atlanta on December 4th, 2019. This will be Nebraska second straight year on the road in the series. The games will be picked up on either ESPN, ESPN2, or ESPNU.

The full slate is as follows:

December 2nd:

  • Miami vs. Illinois
  • Clemson vs. Minnesota

December 3rd:

  • Florida State vs. Indiana
  • Iowa vs. Syracuse
  • Michigan vs. Louisville
  • Duke vs. Michigan State
  • Northwestern vs. Boston College
  • Rutgers vs. Pittsburgh

December 4th:

  • Notre Dame vs. Maryland
  • Nebraska vs. Georgia Tech
  • Wake Forest vs. Penn State
  • Virginia vs. Purdue
  • Wisconsin vs. NC State

Times will be announced at a later date.

Since the Huskers entered the Big ten they have gone 5-3 with wins over Wake Forest in 2012, Miami in 2013, Florida State in 2015, Boston College in 2017, and Clemson in 2018. They losses were to Wake Forest in 2011, Miami in 2015, and Clemson in 2017.

This is the first time that Nebraska and Georgia Tech have played in the challenge. They did previously play each other on December 28th, 1983. It was a 66-49 Georgia Tech win in the Cotton States Classic in Atlanta.

Last season the two conferences tied with 7 games a piece. Overall, The ACC leads the tournament with 127 wins to the Big Ten’s 98.
