Nebraska Recruiting: Offensive Lineman Alex Conn Commits to the Huskers!

Yes, Virginia, He Can Play Offensive Line.

My brother Ross begrudgingly standing on Kansas soil, just so I have a picture for this article.

Great news from the land in the center of it all!

Alex Conn, 6-6 280lb three star offensive lineman from Derby, KS, has committed to the Cornhuskers! Alex was interested in Iowa State, Okie State, Kansas and K-State, Arizona, Missouri, and TCU besides Nebraska. Coach Frost and the recruiting team had gotten on him early, though, and Nebraska was always among his top teams. The big recruiting weekend solidified his decision, and he announced his commitment today.

Alex is a physically impressive specimen. He is long and lean with no bad weight to take off, which seems to be a trend with Coach Austin’s targets. One of Alex’s strengths is the ability to pull, which is important in Coach Frost’s up tempo offense. He is also good a finding blocks downfield to extend running plays. There’s a lot to like about Alex Conn. With his pulling ability, I foresee him as a guard at Nebraska, although he plays left tackle currently.

It seems that linemen find schools close to home and skill players like to travel. Getting commitments from the top linemen in Nebraska and the adjoining states is key to Nebraska football regaining national prominence. The commitment of Alex is a key step in this direction. Welcome to the Husker family, Alex! GBR!
