The Big Ten after dark will have to wait. The scheduled game between Nebraska and Iowa has been postponed until Friday at a time to be determined. The Huskers and the Hawkeyes will face off with the loser headed to an elimination game against Minnesota later Friday night.
The Huskers needed the rain the hold off to be able to get their game in. A thunderstorm struck Omaha right after Indiana was eliminated by Minnesota. With Big Ten Tournament rules preventing any game from starting after 11:00 p.m. local time, the Huskers had a narrow window.
More severe weather moved into the Omaha area as Maryland and Ohio State were playing a winner’s bracket game. Play was halted in the bottom of the eighth inning with the Buckeyes up 3-2 in the bottom of the eighth inning.
A time has not been given as to when Ohio State and Maryland will resume their game.
Fans attending the game can use their unused tickets from Thursday to attend the Nebraska game on Friday. The stands will be cleared after the weather delayed games.
