We really can not go more than a few days without Fred Hoiberg bringing in another player to the Nebraska men’s basketball squad.
It’s nice.
Today we have the honor to learn of Yvan Ouedraogo. Yvan is a 6’9” 240lbs forward from France. He is currently 17 years old and will not turn 18 until the end of next season. Making him one of the younger players in the league. He apparently skipped a grade in grade school so I imagine he has the intellect and maturity to take on the college game.
I am proud and excited to announce I will be joining the @HuskerHoops program and coach Hoiberg this coming Fall. Looking forward to step foot on campus in Lincoln and get to work. #GBR pic.twitter.com/Oizw9jGOcl

He averaged 12.7 points and 9.7 rebounds in the FIBA U16 European Championships last year. Since he played in Europe very little is known about his game so far but I imagine that will change over the next few months. From what I can figure so far, he might be able to come in and compete for playing time right away.
Yvan picked Nebraska over Georgia Tech and TCU. The Huskers now have two scholarships left to fill for the upcoming season.
