Nebraska guard Nana Akenten announced his intention to transfer from basketball via Twitter Wednesday afternoon. Akenten came to our beloved Huskers as a three-star recruit out of Bolingbrook, Illinois.
Akenten averaged 12.9 minutes, 4.3 points, and 2.5 rebounds per game this season as a sophomore. He was suspended indefinitely by coach Tim Miles on March 7th, and did not play in another game the rest of the season.
In his tweet, Akenten thanked the University of Nebraska and Tim Miles, including the obligatory (but nice to hear) - “Lincoln will always hold a special place in my heart.”

We here at Corn Nation wish Mr. Akenten in his future endeavors.
Good luck, Nana!
