Demariyon Houston, 6-0 165lb three star wide receiver from Oklahoma City, has committed to the Cornhuskers! Demariyon was recruited by Texas, Penn State, Oklahoma State, and Colorado among other teams.
Originally a Texas commit, he was encouraged to open his recruitment back up because Texas thought he was an academic risk. Oklahoma and Oklahoma State tried to get back in the mix, but Demariyon did not return their interest. Penn State and Colorado were hot after him, but he cancelled those official visits after visiting Nebraska.
Folks, Demariyon Houston is a straight up burner. His Hudl profile lists a 4.31 40 and a 10.67 100m. That is getting it done. There’s a news report in Texas listing a 10.64. Along with this blistering speed, he has a great stutter-step and double move to get separation on the defender. This is a kid who could have the speed and moves to break loose the big pass play Nebraska has been missing. Another thing I liked was after a touchdown, he just handed the ball back to the ref and went to the sideline - no grandstanding here. Further proof of his understanding the big picture is the last few plays in his highlight video: they are of him blocking downfield on run plays.
My only quibble would be his weight. At 165, Demariyon probably had to play with a rock in each pocket so he didn’t blow off into the Oklahoma sunset. He needs to eat a few steaks and spend some extra time with Coach Duval this summer. With all that speed, though, it may not matter.
Let’s go!!!!!!!! Speed kills . Congrats Peanut https://t.co/FZ4SPp3Vnj
