Many folks were unhappy withe the defensive slug fest that was Super Bowl LIII.
There were few big plays. Not a whole lot of quarterback magic or running backs running up and down the sideline. Even the kickers had an important yet limited role in this game.
But, if you were a fan of defense, this was your game. Both teams came out swinging left and right. Most receivers had little chance catching the ball. Linebackers and the secondaries were on most of them like glue. The running backs had little room to run thanks to two stout defensive lines.
Each team traded blow after blow in the trenches. The offensive lines were put to probably their biggest tests of the year. Neither team came in to this game willing to give up an inch. It all came down to coaching and playing experience.
In the end, the two old men on the field walked away victorious.
Also, Rex Burkhead gets a Super Bowl ring. Maybe Suh can get one next year. This Rams team is not going away.
Anyway, on to flakes...
