Nebraska Baseball Gamethread: Oregon State Game Four

Huskers look to salvage a win in Suprise

The Nebraska Baseball team (3-4) finishes up the Big Ten/Pac-12 Challenge in Surprise, Arizona this morning. Nebraska was routed by the defending NCAA Champion Oregon State Beavers last night, losing 17-1. Nate Fisher took the loss, but just about every arm out of the pen was hit hard.

Nebraska has now dropped three straight contests this season. After the offensive explosion against UC-Riverside, the Huskers have been held to just six runs against the Oregon State pitching staff.

Today, Nebraska will send true freshman Colby Gomes to face the Beavers, while Oregon State sends Grant Grambell.

The lone bright spot in last nights loss was Jaxon Hallmark reaching base three times.

The weather in Surprise has to be much better than the weather in Lincoln. First pitch temperature was 43 degrees, with no snow on the ground. Oregon State and Nebraska are playing early, so the Texas Rangers can use the field later today for Major League Baseball spring training.
