After dropping a doubleheader to open the Big Ten/Pac-12 Challenge the Nebraska Baseball team (3-3) gets returns to the diamond to face the Oregon State Beavers. Nate Fisher will try and keep the Beavers at bay while Sam Tweedt goes to the hill for OSU.
Nebraska had opportunities in both games yesterday but could not convert. In the second game, Nebraska had the bases loaded and struck out in three straight plate appearances in the first inning. Combined in the doubleheader yesterday, Nebraska struck out 27 times.
The Huskers also wasted a dominant bullpen performance from Mike Waldron. Waldron allowed just a single Beaver to reach base while striking out eight over five innings of work.
A few Huskers will look to get over a rough day at the plate. Luke Roskam and Jaxon Hallmark both struck out five times yesterday. Both batters were attacked by off speed pitches from the Oregon State pitching staff.
