Nebraska Baseball Gamethread: Let’s Play Two at Riverside

Huskers get back on the diamond after season opening win

A night after pounding out 20 hits against the Highlanders of UC-Riverside, the Huskers head back out onto the diamond for their first doubleheader of the season. Reece Eddins and Nate Fisher are the scheduled starts for Nebraska.

In the first game, Eddins will attempt to keep the Highlanders bats in check after missing the majority of the last two season with injuries. Eddins will use his curveball/fastball combination to keep the Riverside hitters at bay.

Fisher meanwhile, is the Huskers second leading pitcher in terms of innings pitched returning from the 2018 season. Fisher pitched against the Highlanders last season on February 17th, giving up just a pair of runs in 5.0 innings of work.

After a disastrous bullpen effort last night, Riverside will send out a pair ofjunior college transfers in Riley Ohl and Shamus Lyons. Ohl is a power pitcher, working into the low 90’s last season. Lyons is more of a finesse pitcher.
