Marcus Fleming, 5-10 160lb four star wide receiver from Miami, Florida has committed to the Nebraska Cornhuskers! Marcus was originally a Miami commit, but continued to take visits. The official visit to Lincoln in November really opened his eyes, and caused him to reopen his recruitment. While there were a plethora of prestigious offers to choose from, the teams recruiting him the hardest were Florida State, Georgia, Maryland and Nebraska. Maryland made a big push at the last minute, but the consistent recruiting and playing time opportunity made the Huskers the team to beat.
Check out his contested catch on that video! Just the thing the offense has been lacking!
This is some fun film to watch. Marcus is a burner, give him some space and watch out! He’s got some great moves off the ball, making him dangerous in the swing pass / bubble screen game that the coaches love so much even though it never produces positive yardage and where is the fullback trap and no I’m not angry about so just drop it..... wait where was I? Oh, right, footwork! Yeah, he’s got it. There’s also evidence of a pronounced ability to find a seam and jet, just like Taylor Martinez used to. At 5-9.5, Marcus isn’t going to high point a bunch of 50/50 balls, but if the quarterback can get that ball out there and let Marcus get a step on the cornerback, it’s going to be Touchdown City. And that’s a city I’d like to live in - low crime, good schools, not a lot of housing associations, and a spectacular Brazilian Rodizio restaurant. Ahhh, Touchdown City...
This signing period is just starting to heat up! Stay tuned! Welcome to the Husker family, Marcus! GBR!
