Omar Manning, 6-3.5 225lb four star wide receiver from Lancaster, TX has committed to the Nebraska Cornhuskers! Omar originally committed to TCU, where he redshirted his freshman year after injury, but let his grades slip. He ended up transferring to Kilgore Community College in Texas to get healthy and get his academics in order. Oregon, Ole Miss, Florida State, TCU, and Missouri were all making a strong push for his commitment. His official visit happened in June at the extremely successful Big Red Barbecue. Recruiting wunderkind Ryan Held held all the right cards, and Omar didn’t take any more official visits. I believe he is a 2-for-2 player.
Here’s some highlights from his high school senior season:
Omar Manning is that missing ingredient that’s been missing for so long to complete the Nebraska offense, that unicorn, that white whale: the big-bodied possession receiver. Yes, I miss you Quincy Enunwa! Omar has stated in interviews he loves contact, loves going up after the ball, and loves blocking! Be still my beating heart. His highlights show a combination of long reach, great hands, and great speed after the catch. His ranking as the top JUCO receiver in the nation is well deserved.
Big time get!! GBR! pic.twitter.com/P6Gup5UnD7
