Will the Huskers avoid a mid-week letdown after getting a big win vs Penn State last weekend?

Series History

Nebraska is 14-1 all-time against Northwestern. The Huskers have won 10 straight in the series, including seven sweeps in a row. The Huskers won at Northwestern on Sept. 28, 25-21, 25-17, 30-28.

About the Huskers

Nebraska is 18-3 (10-2 Big Ten) after a thrilling 3-2 win against No. 7 Penn State on Saturday night at the Bob Devaney Sports Center. It was the Huskers’ first win over a top-10 foe this season and put the Huskers in a tie for third place in the Big Ten standings with the Nittany Lions.

The Huskers rank eighth in the nation and first in the Big Ten with an opponent hitting percentage of .142 this season.

Nebraska has the No. 2 offensive (.278) and No. 1 defensive (.148) marks in the Big Ten during conference play.

In Big Ten play, the Huskers also lead all Big Ten teams in kills (14.29 per set) and assists (13.31 per set).

Lexi Sun leads the Huskers with 3.59 kills per set and is hitting .282 on the season. Sun has double-digit kills in all 12 Big Ten matches.

All-America middle blocker Lauren Stivrins averages 2.65 kills and 1.03 blocks per set while hitting a team-best .389 this season. She has a Big Ten-leading .437 hitting percentage in conference play.

Jazz Sweet is putting down 2.69 kills per set on the season, second-most on the team while freshman Madi Kubik adds 2.49 kills and 2.36 digs per set.

Nicklin Hames provides 10.82 assists per set and 2.90 digs per set. She has 11 double-doubles on the season, and in conference play she is second in the Big Ten in assists per set at 11.51.

Callie Schwarzenbach leads the team in blocks at 1.09 per set and is coming off a career-high nine kills against Rutgers last Friday.

Freshman libero Kenzie Knuckles is leading the Huskers in digs with 3.91 per set this season. She was named the Big Ten Co-Defensive Player of the Week on Monday after 5.00 digs per set last weekend and a career-high 24 digs against No. 7 Penn State.

Nebraska has appeared in all 553 AVCA Coaches Polls since it was established in 1982. Nebraska and Stanford are the only two programs to be ranked in every poll all-time.

Scouting Northwestern

Northwestern (10-14, 1-11 Big Ten) earned its first Big Ten win last Friday, sweeping Michigan State. The Wildcats then took Michigan to five sets before falling on Saturday.

Northwestern is hitting .230 on the season and allowing opponents to hit .212.
