Week 12 Cobs: Cartwheels, Targeting and a Sellout Streak Ends

Have you ever cartwheeled on a football field?

Poor attendance, terrible announcing and more crazy comebacks. Let’s cartwheel into this boatload of Week 12 Cob Nominations.

Buffalo

The Bulls were cruising on the road against Kent State 27-6 and then the unthinkable happened. In a flash, Kent State scored 24 points in 8 minutes (!) to complete a stunning comeback. How do you let this happen?

Middle Tennessee State

This isn’t a good look for the program.

Baylor

Another team blew a 28-3 lead? What a crazy finish to this game!

Notre Dame

The Notre Dame sellout streak ended at 273 games this past weekend. Attendance was 74,080 instead of 77,622 at full capacity. The reason this gets a cob nomination is: #1 Notre Dame was playing Navy, a service academy, who they had been playing for the 93rd consecutive year; #2 it was a matchup against two ranked teams. You figure the stadium would be filled up for this game but that was not the case.

Rutgers

Rutgers just can’t seem to coordinate their touchdown celebrations. The clip at the top was a previous cob nomination so I’m cobbing the new ‘celebration’ too.

Toledo Defensive End Terrance Taylor

He got ejected for this dirty hit.

CBS Color Commentator Gary Danielson

This is a really bad look on his part. Total disrespect for the injured photographer.

We have a plethora of great cob nominations for Week 12 of College Football but unfortunately you can only pick one.

BONUS

Ohio offensive lineman Hagen Meservy did a cartwheel during a live play. I guess it worked because it led to a first down.

Sometimes the ball conveniently falls into your lap.

Almost had him.
