It’s been awhile since I’ve posted some recruiting updates. There’s a couple reasons for that. First, I’m lazy. Second, the third consecutive four-win season has taken its toll on recruiting, no matter what the coaches’ talking points have said. Many targets are no longer considering Nebraska or have committed elsewhere.
Additionally, my wife and I were struck by two semi trucks in Atlanta while transporting our horses, injuring them severely, and it has been a bit of an ordeal. We were coming home from the Extreme Cowboy World Finals, where two of our horses finished top 10 in the world while ridden by international riders from Israel and Australia. It was a bit of a comedown.
Looking at video footage, there’s no rational explanation for any of us to be alive. One horse had to be cut out of the trailer with the jaws of life. I’m not looking for sympathy here, but we’re all kind of family by now, so I’m just sharing what’s been going on. The prognosis is positive on all three, and the last one is coming home from the hospital on Saturday.
Kiss your significant other, tell your kids you love them, and do some charitable work today.
Kendall Dennis is a defensive back prospect from Florida. This four-star recruit can play anywhere in the backfield, and that’s how Coach Fisher likes his defensive backs, versatile. He’s an SEC lean.
Jaiden Francois is another defensive back from Florida. He’s also looking at Miami and Indiana, so he can be pulled from the Southeast. He’s a hitter, that’s the way I like them.
Marcus Fleming is a four star receiver built like JD Spielman. The Huskers are attempting to flip him from Miami.
Bryan Robinson is also a blue chip receiver. The staff is battling Alabama for him. It would be a coup to get him.
JUCO linebacker Jamoi Hodge will also be in town. The team needs speedy linebackers who can pass rush off the edge and contribute immediately like yesterday. Fingers crossed!
That’s what I’ve got right now. This is a talented group of prospects, for all my grumbling. The coaching staff is doing work on the recruiting trail. Let’s hope it bears fruit this weekend! GBR!
