Alabama LB Rodney Groce is N!

Huskers pluck a linebacker from the Tide’s backyard.

#All’N

It’s not often that Auburn or Alabama don’t get the players that they want, especially to Nebraska. But that’s just what happened here.

Rodney Groce Jr. is a 6-1, 230 lb inside linebacker from Pleasant Grove, AL, 51 miles from the home of the Crimson Tide. Groce chose to be a Blackshirt over Alabama, Auburn, Georgia Tech, Oklahoma, Mississippi State and others. Groce was on the sideline during the Ohio State game, but apparently the coaches sold him on the future rather than the present. Groce is a top-25 ILB in the 2020 recruiting class.

Groce announced he would make his commitment just a week after his visit with the Huskers was over. He apparently loved the atmosphere and people of Lincoln and believes they are on the right track as a program. Groce has good size to get playing time right away for the Huskers, who will be losing Mo Barry in the middle. The top-end three-star is a big get for the Huskers.

Welcome to the Big Red family Rodney!
