Nebraska heads out to Minneapolis this week to take on the undefeated Minnesota Gophers.
The Huskers are coming off a 13-10 win against Northwestern. In a game where Nebraska accounted for just 319 total yards of offense, the win came down to Lane McCallum’s walk-off field goal. While not the prettiest sight, it did the job and won the game for the Huskers.
Minnesota is bringing a 5-0 record to the match up. Last week they beat Illinois 40-17. The Gophers are led offensively by running back Rodney Smith, who is averaging at least 100 yards a game. They also have an impressive pair of receivers in Tyler Johnson and Rashod Bateman. On defense, Antoine Winfield Jr. leads Minnesota with 27 tackles.

Trivia
Last Saturday’s victory over Northwestern was only the second time that Nebraska won a game on a walk away field goal at Memorial Stadium.
Wandale Robinson has a team high 25 catches for 326 yards. He is currently tied with Stanely Morgan’s 2015 record for most catches by a true freshman.
Last year’s match up with Minnesota marked Nebraska’s first win of the season. In that match up both Adrian Martinez and Maurice Washington rushed for over 100 yards. Nebraska had 659 yards of total offense.
Quotables
Back Up Quarterback Noah Vedral on the health of Adrian Martinez
“If Adrian is ready to go, that’s awesome. I’m hoping for the best for him. But myself and the rest of the quarterbacks will be ready when we need to be.”
Head Coach Scott Frost on Lane McCallum’s game winning field goal against Northwestern
“The kick certainly wasn’t high enough. It found an unbelievable hole over somebody’s hands, under somebody else’s hands, and through.”
Running backs coach Ryan Held on Maurice Washington
“I’m challenging him this week to have a great week of practice, and up to this point he’s done a really good job. I’m going to be on him to be a champion on Saturday… I might take a beer bottle and smash it over my head, whatever it takes to get him ready.”
On possibly playing in snow
“It’s a mindset. This is football and you can’t play in warm weather every week. In this league, you’ve got to be able to play in all kinds of weather.”
