Looks like Tommy Armstrong has found a home. It sounded like the former Nebraska quarterback was going to play for the new Alliance of American Football (AAF) League in Salt Lake City along with other former Huskers like Kenny Bell and De’Mornay Pierson-El.
Well now you don’t have to drive as far to watch Armstrong play as he has signed with the Nebraska Danger, which is an Indoor Football team located in Grand Island, NE.
Last summer I went to the Fire School in Grand Island. We received tickets to go watch the Nebraska Danger play and honestly it was pretty entertaining. We left at half-time because we needed to go eat dinner but I’m sure we might have stayed if Tommy Armstrong was playing quarterback for the Danger that day.
This should get more butts into the seats for football games in Grand Island. Pretty big deal for the Danger and I’m sure they are excited.
Tommy was a slightly controversial quarterback in regards to where you might put him in the echelon of the history of Nebraska quarterbacks. I feel pretty comfortable saying that the community of Grand Island and other Nebraska fans from around the state will be making at least one trek to Grand Island this summer who would otherwise not have made the trip.
Heck, maybe I’ll take the kids.

Huskers show up in at least one "way-too-early" top 25

More recently, a former Husker has been on a Super Bowl roster every year dating back to 1993. It’s the longest streak of any collegiate program at this time. Will that streak extend in 2019?

College football may be in the midst of a recruiting dead period, but there is still plenty happening behind the scenes.
The dead period only means that college coaches can’t visit high school prospects or host them on campus, which leaves plenty of time for communicating via phone or message.
