Frosted Flakes: Walk-Ons, Chickens and the Toffee Apple Tsunami

Who doesn’t love lots of walk-on news?!?

NCAA Football: Music City Bowl-Tennessee vs Nebraska Christopher Hanewinckel-USA TODAY Sports

It has been cold here on the ranch. Not as cold as the souls of Nebrasketball fans, but pretty chilly nonetheless. We’ve also got about 25 baby chickens in the garage (blame ranchdude and the ranchhands). I keep hoping to take them out to their proper building, but they are too young to be exposed to that much cold.

The chickens have learned how to jump out of their makeshift pen if we leave the top off kilter by even a couple inches. When that happens, the great chicken chase ensues. It is entertaining to watch a human being try to lure or scare a chicken out from under a vehicle or work bench.

If you are truly tired of basketball season, try raising chickens in your garage. The entertainment factor is higher than you’d think.
