Friday Flakes: Scott Frost the Builder

So what happens if we start 0-3?

NCAA Football: Troy at Nebraska Bruce Thorson-USA TODAY Sports

So as I write this Nebraska is an 18 point underdog to Michigan for the 11 a.m. game tomorrow.

I saw on ESPN yesterday (I think it was yesterday), that their FPI had us at a 98% chance of losing on Saturday.

From all I have seen, it appears that Adrian Martinez is going to be playing quarterback for Nebraska for the first time since #44 of Colorado decided Colorado couldn’t beat Nebraska by just playing football.

Because of the injury, I don’t think he is going to be as effective as we would hope.

Well maybe at this point hope is all or we can hang our hat on at this point when it is likely that we start 0-3 for the first time since 1945. Do you know what was just ending in 1945?

So if things start going the wrong direction tomorrow morning I suggest hanging your hat on a couple other things: Trust and Foundation.

I believe the vast majority of Nebraska Football fans trust that Scott Frost and this coaching staff know what they are doing. They aren’t going to take shortcuts and sacrifice the long run for the short term win.

In other words, they aren’t going to be playing players who could probably give us a win here or there if they aren’t doing the right things during the week. That is the start of building a foundation. I’d rather this program be built on a foundation that is strong.

So if we start 0-3 or 1-2, trust in the fact that a foundation is being built which will pay huge dividends in the future.

Because shooting for the stars while point a gun at your foot has not worked over the past 20 years.
