It’s hard to wrap my head around how ugly things were for the Big Ten this week. In fact, I could probably do an all-B1G cobs.
- Rutgers (or as Deb Fischer calls them, East Nebraska): It takes a special kind of special to not only lose to Kansas but get blown out by Kansas. The Jayhawks are 2-1, which for those of you playing along at home, is 2 games more than Nebraska has won this year. I have to hand it to KU...there’s something uniquely marvelous about reading about college football, particularly when it’s trash talky, in French. If your French is rusty, all you need to know is “les deux plus mauvaises de la FBS” — “Two of the worst teams in the FBS”.

2. Florida State: Lest anyone forget, the Seminoles were in the playoff 3 and 4 years ago. It’s probably not going to happen this year, as the ‘Noles are 0-3 and lost 7-30 to Syracuse. Syracuse isn’t quite Kansas bad, but they are a historically bad team...a team that FSY should never ever lose to.
3. Northwestern: Anyone remember Akron? The team that NU didn’t have to play any everyone thinks would have been an easy win if Hurricane Herbie hadn’t scrubbed NU’s first game? Yeah, maybe not. The Zips topped the Wildcats 40-35 in Evanston? Also, did you know they have a stadium on Lake Michigan? I think BTN may have mentioned it once or twice?
4. Wisconsin: The #6 Badgers are still in pole position for the B1G Championship Game, but it’s only because the rest of the division sucks. BYU came into Camp Randall and left as 24-21 winners.
Okay, who you got?
