Nebraska Football: Former Quarterback Tristan Gebbia Transfers to Oregon State

Will Rejoin Mike Riley as a Beaver

David McGee

Former Nebraska quarterback Tristan Gebbia has already found a soft landing.

Gebbia, a 6-3 185lb recruit from the storied program of Calabasas, California, was a wildly celebrated recruit when he announced his commitment to the Cornhuskers. However, getting passed over by the turnover machine Tanner Lee, and then by true freshman Adrian Martinez, he made the decision to seek other opportunities.

Gebbia will sit out the 2018 football season, and be eligible to play next season. Although this situation leaves the Huskers a bit thin, it is probably the best choice for Tristan’s future. Andrew Bunch showed potential during spring and fall camp, and next year both UCF transfer Noah Vedral and new recruit Luke McCaffrey will be on campus. At the end of the day, Nebraska will be fine, and Gebbia will have the opportunity to pursue his quarterbacking career. Good luck in Corvallis, Tristan.
