Tim Miles did not have to go far for the 2020 recruiting class. Today the Husker men’s basketball team added 6’5” 190lbs guard Donovan Williams as the first member of said class.

Donovan hails from Lincoln North Star and averaged 18.3 points and 2.7 rebounds per game during his sophomore season for the Navigators and should see that improve coming into his junior year.

It’s still early in his high school career and he should only improve with time. Right now he has had offers from UNO, University of Missouri-Kansas City, Bradley, and South Dakota. It has been a long time since a Lincoln kid received a scholarship from the home town university. Not since Jake Muhlesion from Lincoln Southeast in 2001 making it 17 years. What makes this offer and acceptance even better is that Donovan’s brother is Bryson Williams who took a scholarship offer from Wisconsin over Nebraska this past year. Makes you wonder if Nebraska could have had both brothers if the previous coaching staff had shown an interest.
