Happy Independence Day!
I hope you are enjoying the most American of all holidays. On this day, back in 1776, a group of colonists flashed their collective middle finger at the king of England by signing the Declaration of Independence.
So, how do we celebrate? Many people cook things over open flames or in boiling oil. Almost everyone takes advantage of their impulse to blow things up, sometimes while simultaneously drinking heavily. Americans are multi-taskers if nothing else.
I am celebrating by studying for a big test I need to take for my graduate courses starting this fall. I am also pulling together curriculum for a class I will be teaching.
Explosive devices may be involved, but since we’ll be driving to observe said explosions, there probably won’t be any beer.
How are you celebrating today? Let us know in the comments!
