Everything you need to know about the first Husker spring game in the Frost era

2008 Spring Game Line

The spring game sold out originally in just more than 24 hours, and last week there were more than 9,500 requests for 1,000 tickets made available in a public lottery. With a capacity crowd expected on Saturday morning, fans are encouraged to arrive early.

Coach Frost recently addressed the media and indicated that the game would be a “normal” game minus a few kicking plays. The second half will include a running clock until the final five minutes. Coach Frost also won’t be calling any plays, leaving the game to his assistants.

TV: The game will be televised live on BTN. Kevin Kugler, Ameer Abdullah, and Damon Benning will be on the call for BTN. It can be streamed on BTN2Go with a login from your service provider.

Radio: Huskers sports radio network. The audio can also be streamed live for free at The crew will be: Greg Sharpe, Matt Davison, and Brendan Stai.

Weather: At kickoff, the temperature will be 47 degrees and cloudy, which is considerably better than some earlier forecasts had predicted.

Special Notes

While the Drug Free Pledge will move to pre-game the rest of the pledge details will remain the same. Those taking the pledge will once again do so from their seats in the Stadium. This change began in 2016 and is a safety measure for younger fans taking the Drug Free Pledge.

Fans are encouraged to enter the gate printed on their ticket for easiest access to their seating location, but may use any gate that is open. Fans should be aware the following gates will not be available for entrance on Saturday—Gates 6, 8, 17, 19, 21 and 22. Gates 1, 18 and 23 will close shortly after kickoff.

Members of Nebraska’s 2017 national championship volleyball team will be presented their championship rings at halftime.
