It was one of the best seasons the Nebraska basketball team has seen in quite some time. However, it was not enough to make the 2018 NCAA Tournament. The Huskers miss out on the dance for another season.
Despite going 22-10 and 13-5 in the Big Ten their resume just was not strong enough for the committee to deem them worthy of the post season honor.
#Huskers become just the third team since the NCAA Tournament expanded to 64 teams in 1985 to win 13 league games in a power conference and not make the Big Dance. #Nebrasketball

It is a hard pill to swallow after one of the best seasons in Nebrasketball history. There was a lot of speculation leading up to this day whether Nebraska would make it or not. Many talking heads gave their two cents but in the end what Nebraska did on the court just did not have enough merit.
It is now assumed (very much so) that Nebraska will be in the 32 team NIT tournament that will take place in New York. The last time the Huskers played in it was 2011 when they lost to Wichita State in the first round.
We will update you late tonight when the NIT Tournament selection is done at 7:30pm tonight.
