Nebraska Football: Darrion Daniels Joins his Brother at Nebraska!

Big Nose Tackle Fills Huge Hole in Defense

Exciting, unheralded news from the state where the wind comes sweepin’ down the plain! And the wavin’ wheat, can sure smell sweet/ When the wind comes right behind the rain!

If there’s two things in this world I love, it’s musicals and hole-plugging nose tackles transferring to Nebraska!

Oklahoma State Cowboy and brother to husker Damion Daniels, Darrion Daniels has decided to grad transfer to Nebraska for his final year of eligibility!

Daniels was a four star defensive tackle recruit out of high school when he signed with Oklahoma State. He was offered by the Bo Pelini in 2014, but did not take a visit. As a Cowboy, he played in games as a freshman, sophomore, and junior. In that playing time, he logged 64 tackles with 2 sacks. This season, he only played the first four games before a finger injury ended his season. Since it was allowed to count as a redshirt season under the new rules, he had one more season of eligibility. And where better to spend it, but at Nebraska with his brother?

Here’s some old Hudl highlights:

In 2018 Oklahoma State transitioned from a complicated multiple scheme to a simpler 4-2-5 defense that did not show Daniels to his advantage. At 6-3 320, he is an ideal fit at nose tackle for the Chinander 3-4. His transfer also gives recruit Tony Fair time to learn the system, Damian Daniels another year to grow and develop, and allows Carlos Davis to move back to defensive end where his talents are better suited. This was a badly needed transfer to fill a huge deficiency in the roster.

Welcome to the Husker family, Darrion! GBR!
