Nebrasketball: Huskers Ranked in Coaches & AP Polls

When you play with the big boys, you get ranked with the big boys

Jon Johnston

Do you feel good Nebrasketball fans? It’s been a great couple of weeks for the team and the full conference slate has not even started yet.

Now, do you want to feel even better?

Nebraska is currently ranked #25 in the Associated Press poll and up to #22 in the Coaches. They were previously unranked in the AP and were #25 in the Coaches.

Big wins over Creighton and Oklahoma State in the past week impressed the voters to put the Big Red in each poll this week. Kenpom has them ranked at #14. A lot of the stats in that ranking has to do with not only the wins but by how much. Early season blowouts to Southeastern Louisiana and Mississippi Valley State help pad those numbers.

Other ranked teams in the Big Ten:

  • Michigan - #4 in AP & #5 in Coaches
  • Michigan State - #10 in AP & #8 in Coaches
  • Ohio State - #15 in AP & 14 in Coaches
  • Wisconsin - #16 in AP & #17 in Coaches
  • Indiana - #18 in AP & unranked in Coaches
  • Iowa - #23 in AP & #21 in Coaches

Other Nebraska opponents:

  • Texas Tech - #12 AP & #11 in Coaches

The Huskers come back home to Pinnacle Bank Arena this Saturday to take on Cal State Fullerton at 1:00pm CST.
