Rumors had been circling about the redshirt freshman’s status on the team. Today it was made official.
It clear now I will be leaving Nebraska. Through the up and downs, god is good , I’m thankful to be apart of this program. I have grown a lot over this past two year. I’m thankful for the my teammates, coaches and fans. But now I will be leaving Nebraska and my career elsewhere. pic.twitter.com/cJaYwyG6dd

Guy Thomas asked for and received his release from the University of Nebraska. Thomas, a redshirt freshman, was a highly touted outside linebacker recruit from Florida football powerhouse Booker T Washington High School. He was a high 3 star recruit that I remember being excited about.
Unfortunately for Guy, Nebraska then switched to the 3-4, which left him out of position. He redshirted in 2017, working on the practice squad. He appeared in 4 games in 2018, garnering four tackles and one pass breakup. Realizing Nebraska would not ever be a real fit for him, he made the decision to move on.
Good luck, Guy. We’ll be cheering for you at your new school. GBR!
