I say that every year around Thanksgiving and have thus failed in my efforts to really integrate gratitude and thankfulness into my everyday attitude. Don’t get me wrong, I do try to show appreciation and try to look around and soak in the goodness of my life. I just don’t feel like it is my first or foremost tendency. I’m a fixer, I look for things that need to be better; need to be improved. That often gets in the way of gratitude - even when it shouldn’t.

Over the years, I’ve seen members of this community support each other through grief, celebrate joy, and make the mundane parts of everyday life more bearable because we are sharing them with each other.
