Week 12 Cob Nominations: Philly Special

Dino Babers

It’s really late in the game and Syracuse is down 36-0 to Notre Dame. They are driving in the red zone with under a minute left in the game. Syracuse head coach Dino Babers decides that instead of going for a touchdown, his team should kick a 28-yard field goal with 10 seconds left so they don’t get shut out by the Irish. Bush league? That’s for you to decide.

Ohio State-Maryland

This Big Ten match up was all over the place. Plenty of turnovers, bad mistakes and utter chaos. Of course it was capped off with this play to ensure this game earned a cob nomination.

SMU

The Mustangs decided to get cute against Memphis with a fake punt while inside their own 25. It didn’t turn out so well. SMU ended up losing this game 28-18.

Rutgers

The Philly Special didn’t turn out to be that special in Piscataway. Yikes! Rutgers eventually lost to Penn State 20-7.

Colorado State

What a crazy way to end a game! “There are no flags” until there was one. Utah State prevails 29-24.

Brandon Pili

Another week of a football player deciding to punch a player of the opposing team. Except this time, USC defensive lineman Brandon Pili got away with it.

Although it doesn’t stack up to the last couple weeks, this is still a solid list of cob nominations. Unfortunately you can only choose one. What is your pick?
