Nebraska Recruiting: Bryce Benhart is N!

Nebraska takes a BIG Lineman from Minnesota and Wisconsin

#All’N

KKKKAAAABBBBOOOOOOOOMMMM!!!!!

Bryce Benhart, a 6-9 305 lb moving mountain of a young man has committed to the Huskers! This four star athlete had offers from the likes of Wisconsin, Michigan, Tennessee, Notre Dame, Oregon, Oklahoma, and a host of others. Bryce made an unofficial visit to Nebraska in June, and an official to Wisconsin the next week. Everything was trending Badgers, but even after multiple visits, something was missing for him. Once he agreed to make an official visit to Lincoln, interest on both sides started ramping up in a hurry. After a phenomenal visit to experience the incredible atmosphere at the advent of the Scott Frost dynasty, he realized had found what he was looking for.

Benhart’s highlights are a joy to watch. I’ll bet he’s on #TeamBrinner, because I saw a ton of pancakes! As big as he is, he carries his weight extremely well, showing effectiveness when pulling or when blocking downfield. His strength and use of hands is such that he knocks down defensive linemen even in pass protection. He is so strong his technique suffers a little, though. He is going to need to play with a lower pad level to succeed against tougher competition. I’d also like to see him move to the second level on running plays instead of just sitting on his blocking target after the pancake. That may be how the coach wants things done to prevent clipping bringing back a big run, I don’t know. Overall, though, he is a strong, mobile, athletic lineman with tremendous frame who has incredible potential.

Benhart is an extremely important addition who addresses one of the team’s biggest needs. The future is bright! Welcome to the Husker family, Bryce! GBR!
