What a week. Let’s go.
WKU and ODU - I’m not sure who gets the cob and who gets a Hall of Fame nomination for this game, but both seem like options after the Western Kentucky - Old Dominion matchup. There were at least three untimed downs, a couple missed field goals, and near kick-six, and a dumb ass defensive penalty. All in the final minute.
OK, FINE. Here's the full breakdown of how ODU beat WKU in the weirdest of circumstances pic.twitter.com/SKkzjaYJqp

Ohio State - I get it. Purdue is better than we want to admit, but they completely pantsed Ohio State on ABC Saturday night. There were never a point in the entire second half that it felt like Purdue wasn’t going to win. It was an old fashioned ass-kicking. And it was the third blowout loss in three years. Is OSU prepping to hire Bo Pelini when Meyer decides to spend some more time with his family next year?
Our sister site Hammer N Rails has a nice twitter recap of the evening.
Michigan and Michigan State or Harbaugh and Dantonio - This was just fucking stupid. Normally I like to make the Cobs about funny shit that college football programs do, and while the pre-game asshattery was sorta humorous these two coaches acted like multi-millionaire douchenozzles. JDJ wrote up a good summary of the dustup, so read the specifics here in the unlikely event you’ve been living under a rock since last Friday.
The Big Ten - Very much related to the UM/MSU situation is the way the Big Ten handed out reprimands to all involved. Borrowing again from JDJ’s article today:
The Big Ten determined that Michigan State violated the policy when its football team walked across the field with linked arms and initiated contact with multiple members of Michigan’s team who were legitimately on the field during pregame warmups. Consequently, the Michigan State football team is reprimanded and the institution has been fined $10,000 as a result of the violation.
Michigan State head football coach Mark Dantonio is also reprimanded for failing to take action to mitigate a foreseeable conflict from occurring.
Michigan’s Devin Bush is reprimanded for his conduct.
Michigan head football coach Jim Harbaugh is reprimanded for his comments made about the incident and opponent during his media availability on both Saturday and Monday.
It was like Oprah is the Compliance Director at the Big Ten HQ now. “You get a reprimand, and you get a reprimand. Everybody gets a reprimand.”
Really? A reprimand? What’s for the second offense? A sternly worded letter home? Will Jim Delany taunt them a second time-a?
