Frosted Flakes: Big Ten MBB Standings!

Nebraska is caught up in a gob of teams at 2-1. But YOUR favorite team is LAST!

It’s time for a quick look at the current Big Ten men’s basketball standings!

Here they are!

I confess that I haven’t seen Purdue play yet this year, but I have seen Michigan State a couple times. They are scary good. We will see Purdue really soon as we get them on the road on the

Then you have five teams sitting at 2-1, Nebraska included. This is a nice start, but remember that last season Nebrasketball started 3-0 before losing 8 of their next 10 games.

Further down we have.. Indiana at 1-2! I bet they are not happy.

Rounding out the bottom we have Illinois and rutger. rutger is expected.. but even below rutger is IOWA BASKETBALL ALL BY THEMSELVES. 0-4. Gee, that’s awful!

I don’t expect Nebrasketball to go on to lose 8 of their next 10 this season because this team has depth, and a bunch of different people who can score from anywhere on the floor. I am cautiously optimistic of a decent season - emphasis on “cautious”.

Should I be making fun of Iowa, given Nebraska’s basketball history and chance of possible collapse this season?

YES! Any time you have the chance to kick your rivals when they’re down, you should do it! THIS IS HOW GOOD SPORTSIN’ WORKS!

There is that old “what goes around, comes around” phrase, but IGNORE IT! You might be gone by the time anything comes back around!

Early in the game, the announcers (what up Robbie Hummel!) brought up the fact that Iowa has one of the highest points per game in the entire NCAA. And yet, the team has struggled and has lost any game against halfway decent competition.
