2017-18 Record: 10-12 (3-6 Big Ten)

Last Meeting: January 9th, 2017 - Nebraska 63 Wisconsin 59

Odds: Wisconsin (-3.5)

The Badgers have gone 1-3 since we last saw them in Lincoln. After the Nebraska loss they traveled to then #3 Purdue and were destroyed 78-50. They then came back to Madison where they turned around and destroyed Illinois 75-50. A big win over a very bad team.

However, the Iowa rivalry seemed to mean nothing to the Badgers at the time and the Hawkeyes took them behind the woodshed in a 85-67 loss. Not a good look in the middle of the conference slate. Their final loss was to #6 Michigan State in East Lansing where the Spartans won 76-61.

That leaves them with a 3-6 conference record and 10-12 overall. Yet, they are favored over the Huskers by 3.5 points. That right there tells you how tough it is to play on the road in this conference. Yes, the Big Ten is down this year. Every pendent knows that. It has been beaten to death. But these games can be dangerous when you are on the road in this conference this time of year.

The Huskers are still the better team. A loss tonight will not kill their chances in the post season, but it will hurt it a little bit. Nebraska needs to come out strong in this hostile road environment and take the lead early. Wisconsin hasn’t played well this year but they still have threats that can take it to Nebraska. Guys like forward Ethan Happ and guard Brad Davison proved that in Lincoln.

The season is coming closer to the end. We only have roughly a month left before the conference tournament. The Huskers know this. They should be able to go on the road and take home a much needed road win. Doing so will get them closer to the dance.

My prediction: University of Nebraska 67 University of Wisconsin 59
