James Palmer Jr. was named Co-Player of the Week in the Big Ten along with Purdue’s Carsen Edwards. Palmer, hit a last second buzzer beater in a victory over Illinois on Monday night in Lincoln, and followed up his winning performance with a standout effort against Michigan.
James Palmer Jr. of @HuskerHoops earned his 1st career #B1GMBBall Player of the Week award after he led Nebraska to 2 wins last week with a game-winning three vs. Illinois & a game-high 19 points vs. #23 Michigan, its 2nd win over a Top 25 team this yearhttps://t.co/jYS9rjD0J3 pic.twitter.com/ciSTbiOZUL

Against the Illini, Palmer had 24 points on 10-19 shooting, while adding four rebounds, and a pair of steals. Palmer kept the Huskers in the game, falling one point shy of his season high against UTSA. After the Huskers fell behind on a four point play, Palmer would win the game for the Huskers by hitting an off balance three.

As good as Palmer was against Illinois, his game against Michigan may have been better. Palmer had 19 points, on just eight field goal attempts. Palmer hurt Michigan from the free throw line, going 7 for 11 in the contest. A step back three midway through the second half provided what felt like a dagger to any Michigan comeback attempt.
Palmer and the Huskers are back on the court tonight as they travel to Columbus for a showdown with the 13th ranked Ohio State Buckeyes. If Nebraska gets a big game from Palmer, look for a possible upset.
