It has been a rather controversial week if you have been reading the news. It seems like I can hardly open a website without reading about it. Of course you know what I’m talking about, right?
Yes, this ridiculous idea that Twitter is experimenting with 280 character tweets.
I used to enjoy Twitter. I found it to be a fabulous news and information-gathering tool. It was also a great way to connect with other people. My hard-core colleagues that are really good with social media still stand by those things.
I do not.
Twitter has become a cesspool. One that I simply don’t have the time or energy to swim through to find the good stuff anymore. And now, Twitter is going to make it twice as hard by possibly doubling the character limit from 140 to 280. Count me out.
So, tell me Corn Nation. What am I getting wrong (or right) about Twitter. What do you like/don’t like?
