As mentioned yesterday, Platteview big man Brady Heiman has committed to Tim Miles and the Husker program making it 4 recruits for the 2018 class. He picked the Huskers over the likes of Bucknell, Davidson, Loyola Chicago, University of Denver, and Creighton. This after receiving an offer from coach Miles this past Sunday.
Brady is a 6’10” center from Springfield, NE. He averaged 15.7 ppg, 8.9 rebounds, and 4.8 blocked shots his junior year at Platteview High. Being a Nebraska kid should help pacify those who think our program needs more in state kids on the roster. Especially since this is the first time in 16 seasons that an instate kid has taken a scholarship offer from the Huskers.
As of now he will most likely be put in a developmental position on the team as he does need some work before he will see the court for Nebraska. As mentioned in yesterday’s article, Brady was offered by Creighton but under the stipulation that he would attend a year of post graduate or prep school. Something that most likely sweetened the deal for the Huskers.
The Huskers will have 3 more scholarship spots to fill for the upcoming class and as of now will have a fairly large class of 7 before the class of ‘18 is finalized.
