The Associated Press Released their Preseason Top 25 this morning... leaving Nebraska unranked again. There is no shock in this - if the Huskers want a preseason ranking, they’re going to have to earn it, and the only way they’re going to do that is by winning (and not losing to friggin’ Iowa 40-10).
Alabama is #1 again because if you’re an AP voter and you don’t vote them #1, you are either crazy or have a death wish, Roll Tide.
The Big Ten scored Ohio State at #2, Penn State at #6, and Wisconsin at #9 ahead of Michigan at #11. The Buckeyes are ranked that high for the same reason as Alabama. I would probably pick Penn State to win the Big Ten over them because I think they’re that close. Wisconsin is way more consistent than Michigan, and Jim Harbaugh really hasn’t proven all that much as a college football coach.
Texas? WTF.
