There are better ways to spend a Saturday than to speed with weed in your car. Former Nebraska Defensive End Eric Martin found this out the hard way.
According to this report, Martin was clocked going 64 in a 45 MPH area on Saturday afternoon. Martin was pulled over for said speeding, and when the officers started talking to Martin, the smell of marijuana came abound.
After the officer got done calling a K9 dog, Martin admitted that he had marijuana that there was weed in his car. The consequent search brought up 9 rolled joints that were found inside the car after the admission. Also 9 grams & other drug things were found in a suitcase in the trunk of the car.
Martin was arrested & transferred to the Clay County (AR) jail, where he bonded out. He has a court date on August 8th. No word on if Martin used those checks he was looking for back in college.
Currently, Martin is a member of the Toronto Argonauts. However, being on the Suspended list, he’s not around the team obviously. Martin was signed by the Argos back in October of 2016, but Martin was a former member of the New England Patriots & Cleveland Browns, as he was undrafted coming out of Nebraska.
