Nebraska Baseball Vs. Yale: NCAA Tournament Gamethread, TV, Streaming & Radio Options

Huskers open NCAA Tournament

The second seeded Nebraska Cornhuskers 35-20-1 (16-7-1 Big Ten) travel to the Corvallis Regional hosted by Oregon State to take on the third seed Yale Bulldogs 32-16 (16-4 Ivy League). The Huskers will send Jake Meyers (8-1, 3.09 ERA) to the mound, changing up their weekend rotation, while Scott Politz (10-2, 3.47) will take the mound for Yale.

As mentioned in the preview, Benny Wanger was injured last week, but is expected to play. Many of the Bulldogs hitters are right handed, including Wanger, Richard Slenker, and Tim DeGraw.

Meyers will need to be sharp to keep the Yale offense off balance. Yale tends to put up big innings in games, which Meyers will need to limit to keep the Huskers in the winners bracket.

On the opposite side, Nebraska gets to see Politz, who was tied for sixth in the NCAA with ten wins on the season. Politz does have six complete games, but five of the six are seven inning complete games.

Behind Politz, the Bulldogs are short in the bullpen. Nebraska would do best to rack up the pitch count on Politz and force him out of the game early.
