Earlier, the Husker offense could not get a clutch hit, as they went 0-8 with runners in scoring position, and stranded a total of eleven runners.
Nebraska will need to turn around and play some of their best baseball to beat Maryland and Tyler Blohm. Blohm did suffer a loss in Lincoln on April 9th when Jake Meyers out-dueled Blohm who lasted only 4.2 innings while giving up four runs.
Maryland is coming off a win in last nights elimination contest, when they defeated the Purdue Boilermakers by a final score of 5-2. Kevin Smith had a big hit when he doubled with the bases loaded to score three runs in the eighth inning.
