The Nebraska Baseball team will be in action on Friday after an off day Thursday. The Huskers will play the Iowa Hawkeyes in a winners bracket contest. The game is scheduled to start at 12:30 CDT. The loser of Iowa and Nebraska will have to turn around and play Maryland in an elimination game tonight at 7:30.
Minnesota and Northwestern will play their winners bracket game on the opposite side of the bracket first, starting at 9:00. The loser of that contest will face Indiana at 4:00. If Nebraska were to win, they would face the winner of the Indiana and Northwestern/Minnesota loser tomorrow.
As for Nebraska, they will face off against Ryan Erickson, who held the Huskers to three runs in a no decision in a Iowa victory on April 15th. Erickson has been solid all season, allowing at most five runs in one game.
Iowa will have to face off against Derek Burkamper who has found a resurgence in the last three starts. Burkamper has shut down Michigan State, Penn State, and Rutgers. While none of those teams are the offensive juggernauts that Iowa could be, if Burkamper keeps the ball down in the zone as he has the past three starts, he could find great success.
