Yesterday was an exciting day at the ranch as Son #2 got his braces. The poor kid has a jazz band competition coming up soon, so it was probably not great timing to get braces now. Of course, there is never a good time.

The Husker women hoopsters open Big Ten tournament play play today (12:30 pm) against Illinois on BTN. Thanks to their win over Michigan State on senior night, the ladies avoided the cellar of the B1G and are instead the 13 seed. Freshman Hannah Whitish has developed into a very good college point guard. The Husker women also have some highly rated post players coming into the program the next two years and will have shooting guard Bria Stallworth next season to compliment Whitish's ability to run point as well as score. It would be nice to see the ladies win one or two at the tournament to give them some positive momentum going into next season.
