Today is a quiet one on the Husker sports calendar but Thursday sees the opening game for softball as well as games for the men's (8 p.m.) and women's (7 p.m.) hoopsters. Both basketball teams face off against Wisconsin with the women on the road at Madison and the men at the Vault.

It will be a challenging opening weekend for Nebraska softball. They face several top teams, but don't feel too bad for them. They get to spend time in sunny Mexico.
