Michigan State shot lights out against the Huskers in Lincoln. After losing to Nebraska three times in a row, the Spartans finally beat the Huskers. Michigan State couldn’t mis from three point range, shooting 11-17 from beyond the arc. The Huskers got it within two points early in the second half, but couldn’t keep up with the Spartans. Nebraska falls to (10-12, 4-6) and Michigan State is (14-9, 6-4). Nebraska has a quick turn around as they play at Iowa on Sunday afternoon.
The Good
Jordy Tshimanga had arguably the best game of his career at Nebraska. Jordy had 15 points and 9 rebounds. If Jordy can continue to develop as a solid center inside, Nebraska can continue to develop for the future. The Huskers can still win some games down the stretch and finish around .500 to end the season. The Iowa game will be a tough one however. Iowa is a good team and Nebraska doesn't have great luck winning in Iowa City. The Hawkeyes will be ready and it should be a solid game on Super Bowl Sunday.
The Bad
The three-point defense continues to be a problem for Nebraska. This is about the fourth game this Big Ten season where the opposing team has shot well from beyond the arc. This could continue to be a problem too as Anton Gill, Nebraska’s best defender, is out for the season. The good news? They can overcome it like they did against Purdue. Husker fans shouldn't panic yet but it is something to watch as the season continues.
Tweet of The Day
Miles said 3-point defense has been bad for two years now. Said giving up so many uncontested looks is worst part.
