A report by HuskersOnline/Rivals is stating that former Nebraska Cornhuskers Safety Daniel Bullocks will be the ninth assistant hire for Nebraska. The hire, which would be replacing Brian Stewart, would be announced soon.

Bullocks, who with his brother Josh was on the Nebraska Football team from 2002 through to 2005, spent last year with the Jacksonville Jaguars as a Assistant Defensive Backs coach. Previously, he has some college experience at both Eastern Michigan and Northern Iowa.

Bullocks, 33 years old and originally from Chattanooga, Tennessee, played in 48 games, and starting 33 for the Huskers in his time in Lincoln. He was a second-team Big 12 Conference pick in his Senior season.

He would replace Stewart, who went to Rice to become the Defensive Coordinator after the Music City Bowl loss to Tennessee.

It is not known for certain which position Bullocks will be coaching at this time, but we expect once the hire is made official that Bullocks will be assigned to coach safeties in Diaco’s 3-4 system.
