John Parrella had a really rough time in his first full year recruiting for the Nebraska Cornhuskers. But the commitment and signature of Damion Daniels today makes the cycle all better. Daniels has indeed signed his letter of intent and sent it into North Stadium.

Daniels hails from Bishop Dunne High School in the middle of Dallas, Texas. Daniels is the 631st best player in the 2017 recruiting cycle according to the 247Sports composite. He is the 49th best defensive tackle in this class, and the 87th-best player in the state of Texas as well in ‘17.

Besides Nebraska, Daniels had offers from Colorado, Arizona, Arkansas and Oklahoma State among all his FBS offers.

Expectation: Daniels, with his size and experience at the 0-1 technique, should be able to contribute almost immediately with Bob Diaco’s 3-4 setup. there’s no reason that Daniels and Deiontae Watts can’t be instant contributors next Fall. There could be a thought of his body shape, but if he can get to Lincoln early and get working out, he may be able to be in shape for the season.
